Alocasia ‘Borneo King’

This selection is the result of a very complex series of hybridizations. It can grow to over 1.2 to 1.5 m in our northern climate under good growing conditions. The size of this giant elephant’s ear can be compared to that of the large-rooted alocase ‘Borneo Giant’ (‘Borneo Giant’). Its leaves are very large and erect, almost straight, as are the petioles. As the leaves mature, they tend to undulate and become slightly waffled. Those who like large, exotic leaves will be well served with this cultivar. It performs best in a sheltered spot. Good resistance to cool temperatures.
