Ficus elastica

The elastic or rubber fig tree is a well-known houseplant in temperate countries. This plant is now used more and more outdoors. The elastic fig tree is an evergreen tree that is fast growing in its natural habitat. Its glazed leaves are oval, shiny and leathery. In ornamental cultivation, we tend to use selections with variegated foliage. The elastic fig tree is native to India, Malaysia, Indonesia and Nepal.
