Colocasia esculenta ‘Violet Stem’

This is one of our most versatile colocases, bringing beauty and balance to both large containers and flowerbeds. Violet Stem’ is also ideal for water features, when well established. This selection is distinguished by its long, medium-thin, graceful dark purple stems, which contrast beautifully with its purplish-green leaves. The latter are highlighted by pronounced plum-colored veins.

The underside of the leaves is purplish. This plant has good basal branching. The plant also emits stolons that crawl over the ground and root. Violet Stem’ can reach 80-90 cm in height.
