Alocasia wentii

This plant is native to the mountains of New Guinea. The mid-green of the leaf tops contrasts nicely with the metallic purple-bronze underside. The well-defined veins of the leaves, which measure 40 to 50 cm in length, enhance this duality of colors. The rhizomes of this species are highly resistant to cold, making this alocase a good candidate for cold regions. In fact, it’s often nicknamed “hardy elephant ear” because of its resistance to the cold. The plant can reach 80 to 90 cm in height. It grows moderately fast. Alocase performs well in cool conditions.
