Alocasia sarawakensis ‘Yucatan Princess’

The cultivar ‘Yucatan Princess’ is part of the Masquerade™ series of alocases whose leaves recall the original designs of Mayan and Zulu masks. This is the black form of the Sarawak alocase, a selection that astonishes us when we first see it with the color of its foliage and its slender habit. The erect, glossy leaves of this Yucatan princess are colored from dark green to black, with a brown underside, giving it a very interesting exotic touch that is enhanced by a bumpy texture. The dark chocolate-colored stems contrast well with the color of the leaves. Although ‘Yucatan Princess’ prefers afternoon shade, it can also be grown in full sun. Plant height can reach 80 cm.
